The city has lost one its great ladies with the death at 79 of Dolores Hart.
She was one of Everett’s most respected and beloved ambassadors during a long life lived entirely in this city.
To Mrs. Hart, Everett was one of the best places in the world to live in and to raise her family.
Her marriage to William Hart, which lasted 56 years, says it all about her loyalty, her love and her affection as she showed it to her family, always.
As the mother of Billy Hart, a former school committeeman and common councillor and now the director of the Massachusetts Community College System, she was his constant supporter. She encouraged and inspired him to volunteer his time and energy for many worthwhile causes.
He said of his mother that she taught him the importance of education, of kindness and concern and about reaching out to help people from all walks of life.
This was a wonderful, caring, loving woman who people in this city adored.
We offer our condolences to Billy Hart, whom we know so well, and to all the members of his family as well as the friends of Dolores Hart.
