Pioneer Charter School of Science Mathcounts Team represented the school in the Apple Education Mathematics Olympiad Camp. The camp was held in New Jersey Institute of Technology between December 16 and 19.  Students participated in Mathcounts work sessions and The 24Game, a mathematical card game in which you manipulate four integers so the end result is 24.

Math professors from nearby universities and former Math Olympiad champions served as tutors during the camp.  Students were also exposed to award winning Mathcounts coaches.  Around 80 students from different schools, mainly from the East Coast region, participated in the Mathematics Olympiad Camp. PCSS 7th grade student Hannah Khafif made the final in The 24 Game and received a recognition ribbon.  All students from PCSS received certificates of participation.  The staff and administration at PCSS is proud of our Mathcounts team and looking forward to their success in upcoming competitions.
