Robert Carreiro
It would be hard to find a School Committee member better qualified than Mr. Robert Carreiro to serve as Chairman of the Everett School Committee.
A life-long resident of Everett and graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1969, Mr. Carreiro went on to Salem State College, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Mr. Carreiro was a teacher with the Everett Public Schools for seventeen years. He also served as President of the Everett Teachers Association for seven years.
For the past six years, Mr. Carreiro has been employed as a Housing Management Specialist with the Department of Housing and Community Development in Boston. In this capacity, he serves as a liaison between the Department and his assigned housing authorities, providing management assistance, conducting on-site reviews as well as monitoring the management systems and regulatory compliance of housing authorities in all areas of the authority’s operations. Mr. Carreiro also works as a Risk Management Specialist handling the day-to-day operations of the Department of Housing and Community Development, working with attorneys and claim investigators concerning claims, policies and procedures.
For the past five years, Mr. Carreiro has served as the Chairman of the Everett Housing Authority. In this capacity, Mr. Carreiro works closely with the Executive Director on several major projects as well as negotiating contracts for the administrative, maintenance employees and Executive Director.
Carreiro has been a member of the Everett School Committee since 2004 and has served as Vice Chairman for the last two years.
