Thomas Ronan

Contract administrator

Thomas R. Ronan died after a period of failing health at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital in New Hampshire on October 4. He was 83 years old.

Born in Everett, he attended the Everett Public Schools and graduated from Bentley College. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and worked at Saunders Associates where he was a contract administrator.

He and his wife presently lived in Seabrook, NH but formerly lived in Chelmsford, Saugus, and Everett. He was the beloved husband of Marie (Pione) Ronan and loving father of Thomas R. and his wife, Eileen, of Milford NH, Kenneth J. and his fiancée, Tamara Teague, of Arizona and Suzanne M. Young and her husband, Colin, of California; the brother of Theresa Darragh and her husband, Paul, of Rhode Island, Agnes Harkness and her husband, Roland, of Peabody, James Ronan of Everett, Joan Glynn and her husband, Robert, of Everett and the late Michael, Joseph, Mary Dwyer and Ronald. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Catherine Kerrigan

Hairdresser

Catherine Kerrrigan died at home on October 10 after a period of failing health. She was 92 years old.

Born in Everett, she attended the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and graduated from St. Rose’s High School in Chelsea. She worked for the Department of Mental Health as a hairdresser for 35 years. A US Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post 176, she was the beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine (Carney) Kerrigan and the sister of Joseph of Pennsylvania and the late Rose Garofano, John, William, and Edward Kerrigan; aunt of Edward Garofano of Florida, Pat Cafasso of Melrose and the late Thomasina Mary Medeiros.

Her Funeral will be held from the Murphy O’Hara Funeral Home, 519 Broadway, Everett on Thursday at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in The Immaculate Conception Church at 11 a.m. Visiting hours are today, Wednesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Thomas Deegan Jr.

Everett Public Schools custodian

Thomas W. Deegan Jr., a lifelong resident of Everett, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital on October 9. He was 72 years old.

Born in Malden, he retired after 30 years of service as a custodian with the Everett School System.

He was the beloved husband of Starr Mae (Chambers); dear father of Lynn Marie Halpin of Saugus; brother of Patrick J. Deegan of Malden, John K. Deegan of Florida, Elizabeth Repucci of California and the late Theresa Donahue. He is also survived by three loving grandchildren.

His Funeral will be held from the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main Street) Everett on Thursday morning at 9 followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Broadway, Everett at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Frederick Abbruzzese

Of New Hampshire, formerly of Everett

Frederick "Fred" Abbruzzese of Conway, NH, formerly of Everett, died on September 22. He was 64 years old.

A US Air Force veteran of Vietnam, he was the Director of Rehabilitation at the Veteran’s Home in South Paris, ME. and the President of the Mt. Washington Valley Radio Control Aircraft Club.

The beloved husband of Natasha (Ovchinnikova) Abbruzzese, he was the loving step-father of Dasha Abbruzzese; dear brother of Linda Carafa and her husband, William, of Chelsea and Mary L. Abbruzzese of Nevada and Lakeville; uncle of Jennifer Carafa-Castater and her husband, Robert, and Amy Carafa, all of Everett; son of the late Louis and Rose (DeBiase) Abbruzzese. He is also lovingly survived by numerous cousins and friends.

A Memorial Service will be conducted in the William R. Carafa & Son Home For Funerals, 389 Washington Ave., Chelsea on Sunday, October 17 at 3:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Doreen Joyce Hrinchuk

Of Florida, formerly of Everett

Doreen Joyce (Kearins) Hrinchuk died on September 27 in Spring Hill, Florida, after a long illness. She was 70 years old.

Among her qualities, she will be remembered for her quick wit, green eyes and beautiful, strawberry-blond hair. She was born in Everett on August 12, 1940 to the late Clara Viola (Murphy) and John Thomas Kearins. She spent her early years in Everett and then moved to Burlington where she graduated from Burlington High School. She loved children, doted on her younger sister, Jackie, and also taught Sunday school at the Church of Christ in Burlington.

She married her husband, William Frederick Hrinchuk, of Burlington, in 1960. They made their home first in Wilmington, and later in Lowell. Together they had six beautiful children. Her beloved husband, Bill, died on September 27, 1978. Later, she worked at a telephone answering service and also at Lowell General Hospital.

She is survived by her children; Diane Marie Hrinchuk and her fiancée, Steven Cennerazzo, of Salem, NH, William Frederick Jr., John Thomas and Mark David Hrinchuk, all of Lowell, and Donna Lee Hrinchuk Simmons and her husband, Jerry Simmons and Michael Allan Hrinchuk all of Spring Hill, Florida ; her fiancée and adored companion, Thomas Clarke, also of Spring Hill, Florida. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; Kacie, Krista, and Courtney Hurley, Matthew, Brian and Jenna and Jacob Hrinchuk, Cheri and Heather Simmons and one great-grandchild, Nathan Lee-Hrinchuk; her sister Jacqueline Kearins Echteler and brother-in-law Stephen Echteler of Bryn Mawr, PA, as well as many other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please remember her for the loving person that she was and perform a kindness for someone in her memory.

 

Helen Wessick

Everett resident

Helen R. (Wallace) Wessick of Everett, formerly of Somerville, died on October 7. She was 76 years old.

The beloved wife of the late Charles R. Wessick, she was the loving mother of Denise McKim and her husband, Arthur, Jacqueline Wessick, Charles Wessick and Paul Wessick, all of Somerville and Linda Comeau and her husband, Allan, of Everett; dear sister of Robert Wallace of San Augustine, TX and the late George and William Sloane, Joseph and John Wallace and Caroline Morton; cherished grandmother of Jennifer Wessick, Allan and Christine Comeau. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kenneth Strong

Everett resident

Kenneth R. Strong of Everett died on October 10.

He was the loving father of Kendra O’Brien and her husband, Kevin, of Peabody and Jillian Grennon and her husband, John, of Londonderry, N.H. He is survived by his four loving grandchildren, Amelia, Kayla, Madison and John Jr. as well as a sister, Carol May.

John White

Of New Hampshire, formerly of Everett

John P. "Jack" White of Sandown, NH, formerly of Everett, died on October 9. He was 67 years old.

Mr. White worked for New England Telephone for 43 years and was a member of the I.B.E.W. Union # 2222.

The loving husband of Ann M. (Kelley) White, he was the beloved father of John P. White of Medford; loving brother of Frank White of Everett, Margaret Farnham of Billerica, and Michelle White of Everett and the late James and Joseph White. He was the cherished grandfather of Aubrey Elizabeth White.

Died October 6

Roberta M. (Curley) Linscott died on October 6.

She was the beloved mother of Roger Linscott and his wife, Nancy, of Malden, Richard Linscott of Maine, Russell Linscott of Everett, Donna Linscott of Salem and Debra Penta and her husband, Robert, of Saugus; the dear sister of Charlotte DiGiantommaso, Joyce Fielding and the late Thomas Curley and Diane Lever. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Patricia Maguire

Of Saugus, formerly of Everett

Patricia J. (Fahey) Maguire of Saugus, formerly of Everett, died on October 7.

She was the beloved mother of Patrick and Erin Maguire of Saugus; loving daughter of Alice (Foley) Fahey of Everett and the late John J. Fahey, Jr.; sister of Deborah McCartney and her husband, Garrett, of Taunton, Kenneth Fahey of Wilmington, Shaun Fahey and his wife, Maureen, of Melrose and is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Her funeral will be held from the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus, today, Wednesday, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Margaret’s Church, 431 Lincoln Ave., Saugus at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
