The Everett High girls soccer team pulled out a dramatic 1-1 tie against GBL rival Cambridge on a goal by sophomore Kayla Ringdahl off a nice assist from fellow sophomore Julianna Martins with just five minutes to play last Thursday.
“It was a beautiful goal that capped an awesome game by our entire team,” said EHS head coach DeAnn Larrabee. “We’re off to a nice 1-0-1 start in the GBL. The girls are really starting to bond as a team and our captains are doing a great job of keeping spirits high and the team motivated.”
The tie came a day after the Lady Crimson Tide dropped a 4-0 decision to a strong Lynn English team from the Northeastern Conference. Larrabee cited the fine play of Captain Zoulikha Madkour in goal and freshman Sheryl Steeves on defense.
Larrabee and her crew travel to Somerville Friday and then host Randolph Monday afternoon. They will play Medford next Wednesday evening under the lights at the Stadium.
