Although the Everett High girls track team did not come home with a GBL titlist at Thursday’s All-League Meet, a number of Lady Crimson Tide turned in fine performances to win ribbons with top six finishes.
Sashae Walls was a dual medalist, coming home with a second place ribbon in the high jump with a leap of 4-8. The winning jump also was 4-8, but Sashae had more misses that dropped her behind the winner. Sashae also took a third place ribbon in the 400 meter run in 64.5.
Katie Steeves took second place in the 200 meter dash in 28.8, a personal record (PR). Teammate Serena Welch-Shull grabbed third in the 200 in a PR time of 29.3.
Maeve Kernan put up a valiant battle for GBL supremacy in the two mile, but fell just short by seven seconds to finish in second place in 13:10.5. Teammate Jessica Mangan finished fourth in 15:02.
Brenda Sant Ana grabbed third in the 400 intermediate hurdles in 1:25.5. Daryl Colson snared fourth in the discus with a toss of 73-9. Delmis Urquiza took sixth in the shotput with a heave of 20-9. Guerdie Valmont finished fifth in the long jump with a PR leap of 14-7.
The 4 x 100 relay quartet of Steeves, Valmont, Walls, and Welsh-Shull took second place in their best time of the season in 55.2. The 4 x 400 team of Naeva Richemond, Ducylia Johnson, Sarah Fischer, and Franklyne Paul took fourth in 4:49.4. The 4 x 800 foursome of Sant Ana, Kernan, Angele Lous Jean, and Urquiza grabbed third in 11:53.6.
