It’s now official: DiDomenico elected to State Senate

Everett’s Sal DiDomenico won a resounding victory throughout the sprawling Middlesex, Suffolk and Essex District during light voting in the Tuesday special election finale.

He now officially becomes Senator-elect DiDomenico.

DiDomenico won by a huge margin.

Senate President Therese Murray said she’d set DiDomenico’s swearing in soon – and maybe as early as Friday.

DiDomenico faced an Independent candidate, John T. Cesan of Agawam, who received a nominal percentage of the vote.

DiDomenico will be facing Attorney Tim Flaherty, again, in the regular primary election in September.

DiDomenico takes over the seat once held by his former boss, Anthony Galluccio.

It is estimated that nearly 2,000 people voted in Everett.
