Veterans from across Everett gathered at the Connolly Center for the City’s monthly Veterans Luncheon, sharing a meal, reconnecting with friends, and welcoming Interim Director of Veterans Services Paul Landry.

Held on the last Wednesday of each month, the luncheon is an opportunity to bring Everett’s veteran community together while recognizing the sacrifices they made in service to our country.

This month’s luncheon also gave veterans the chance to meet Landry, who recently stepped into the role of Interim Director of Veterans Services. With more than 33 years of leadership in the Everett Police Department and the Massachusetts National Guard, he brings decades of public service and military experience to the position.

“The July Veterans Luncheon was a special occasion because our veterans had the chance to meet and welcome our new Interim Director of Veterans Services, Paul Landry,” said Mayor Robert J. Van Campen. “Paul has dedicated his career to serving others, and I know he’ll bring that same commitment to the men and women who served our country.”

Throughout the afternoon, Landry met with veterans, listened to their stories, and began building relationships with the people he will now serve.

“I am incredibly honored to work with Everett’s veterans and help connect them with the services and benefits they’ve earned,” said Interim Director of Veterans Services Paul Landry. “I’ve worn a uniform for most of my career, and it’s humbling to now serve the men and women who sacrificed so much so the rest of us can enjoy the freedoms we have every day.”

The City of Everett is proud to recognize and support those who served our country. While the monthly luncheon is a chance to gather and connect, the City’s commitment to veterans extends far beyond a single day.

The next Veterans Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, August 26, at 12 p.m. at the Connolly Center.
