The Everett Planning Board took the first step into the Zoom world on Tuesday night, calling for the City’s first online public meeting with no one in attendance.
The Planning Board had several key matters on the agenda, including a review of the massive Market Forge project on the Parkway. Most of the agenda items were scheduled to be continued due to the online format, but there was plenty of presenting and input expected to be given.
The City’s IT Department has been carefully creating a new online format over the last few weeks using Zoom and other platforms so that City business could continue in some fashion through the closures caused by the pandemic.
Gov. Charlie Baker issued a new regulation amending the open meeting law temporarily last month, which allowed for online meetings to take place without anyone actually being present.
