Malden Catholic Participates in Multi-School iPad Donation Drive for Tufts Medical Center

Part of the devasting aspect of testing positive with a COVID-19 diagnosis is the isolation it causes for the victim and the sense of helplessness for their family. Tufts Medical Center has decided to work directly with the schools in the Catholic Conference including Malden Catholic High School, Boston College High School, Catholic Memorial, St. John’s Prep and Xaverian Brothers High School to provide these patients and their families with a way to connect.

Malden Catholic and the other schools in the Catholic Conference Connects have asked families, friends and alumni to donate fully functioning iPads to Tufts Medical Center between Tuesday, April 7 through Friday April 17. The iPads must be able to run a FaceTime call as this is the goal to provide these patients with interaction of their loved ones. Tufts Medical Center will be accepting donations at Tufts Medical Center located on 830 Washington Street in Boston, MA. Individuals are asked to drop off the iPads to the security officer at the Tufts Medical Center Emergency Room Monday through Friday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.

In addition to the iPad donations, anyone dropping off an iPad has been asked to do their part by practicing social distancing, staying home whenever possible, and washing our hands frequently.
