Special to the Independent

Following a tough loss to Central Catholic in the Division 1 North semifinals last week, the Everett high football team looked to rebound against Andover, but the Warriors stunned Everett, 20-16, Friday night in Andover.

Andover scored the winning touchdown with just under two minutes remaining after Andover accepted a personal foul penalty against Everett and was able to continue its drive. Andover’s Scott Brown produced the game-winning points on a 13-yard touchdown run.

Andover (7-4) built a 10-0 lead before Jayden Clerveaux scored on a 16-yard run, followed by Tyrese Baptiste’s rush for the two-point conversion.

Andover connected on a field goal to make it 13-8 before Baptiste’s 44-yard TD run and Ismael Zamor’s two-point conversion gave Everett a 16-13 lead with 10 minutes remaining in game.

However, Andover put together its game-winning surge in the final minutes and recorded the upset over the Crimson Tide.
