Seide finishes fifth in dash at D-1 Meet

Everett High speedster Lucia Seide finished in fifth place in the 55 meter dash at last week’s Division 1 State Meet that was held at the Reggie Lewis Center.

Lucia had been a consistent performer all season long for the Lady Crimson Tide and that held true at the D-1 Meet. 

She entered the meet seeded as the fifth-fastest girl in D-1 with her best time during the season of 7.49 seconds. In the preliminary round, her clocking of 7.55 also was fifth-best.

Then in the final, Seide turned in her best performance of the year with a 7.46 effort to earn a fifth-place medal at the meet.

Lucia also competed in the long jump and finished in 16th place with a leap of 15’-4”. She had been seeded sixth in that event with her top jump of the season coming in at 16’-10.5”.

Seide also anchored the girls’ 4 x 200 relay quartet with teammates Jessica Santos, Victoria Chaparro, and Cyara Lambert. The foursome turned in a fine effort to earn medals for their ninth-place finish in a clocking of 1:51.18. On the boys’ side, junior Mac Shilllingford placed 22nd in the 300 dash with a clocking of 37.22.
