Of Melrose, formerly of Everett

Carol (Moreschi) DeVito of Melrose, formerly of Everett, passed away recently. She was 72 years old.

The beloved wife of Robert DeVito, she was the mother of Doreen Fisher and her husband, Mitch, Robert Jr. and his wife, Michelle; daughter of the late Frank and Doris Moreschi; and sister of Frank Moreschi, Rose Cianciulli, Robert Moreschi and the late Doris Ellard and Florence Barresi. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Adriana Fisher, Mitchell Fisher Jr., Brad Fisher and Lisa DeVito.

Funeral arrangements were by the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home,  Everett. Interment was private.

Joseph Nickerson

Of N. Billerica

Joseph W. Nickerson of N. Billerica died suddenly on Nov. 7 at 21 years old.

He was the beloved son of Kevin and Dawn (DiRusso) Nickerson of N. Billerica and loving grandson of Cosmo DiRusso and his wife, Margaret of Somerville and the late Dianne DiRusso and Wallace and Margaret Nickerson; dear brother of Ryan Nickerson of N. Billerica and cherished uncle of Anthony and Andrew Nickerson. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gloria Passemato

Retired retail clerk

Gloria Passemato of Chelsea entered into eternal rest on Saturday morning, Nov. 17 at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home.  She was 88 years old.

Born in Everett, the daughter of the late Richard and Edith (Varney) Lauzon, she was a graduate of Brockton High School and began her working career at Raytheon and later worked as a retail clerk at Gorin’s Department Store, which later became Almy’s.

Gloria had been living in Chelsea for the past year but was a previous resident of Everett and Malden.

She was the wife of the late Pasquale J. Passemato, beloved mother of John J. Passemato and his wife, Lois of Saugus and the late Mark A. Passemato; dear sister of Richard A. Lauzon of Washington State and the late Beverly Brooks. Gloria is also lovingly survived by five grandchildren: Jessica Nolan of Danvers, John J. Passemato of Saugus, Mark Anthony Passemato of Florida, James Passemato of California, Bret Passemato of Boston and two great-grandchildren, Giona and Gabriella Nolan, both of Danvers.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Carafa Family Funeral Home in Chelsea and will be conducted at a later date.
