Charles Scott Laughton

Owner of Laughton Home Improvements

Charles Scott Laughton, a longtime resident of Everett, died November 24 at Massachusetts General Hospital following a brief illness.  He was 59 years old.

Charles was self employed and owner of Laughton Home Improvements out of Everett.  He was a former member of the Beachmont Yacht Club.

The husband of Brenda (Wierszchalek) Laughton, he was born, raised and educated in Malden, the son of the late Robert Laughton Sr. and Adele (White Laughton) Vidal.  He was the father of Kristen Learned and Shaun Doherty and grandfather of Cheynne and Luis Rodriguez, all of Malden;  the brother of Bob Laughton and his wife, Mary of Peabody, Carole Rabideau and her late husband, Dan of Manchester, NH, David Laughton of Merrimack, NH and Vance Hoffman of Jacksonville, FL.  He will be missed by his much loved dog, Dakota. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Charles’ life will be held Saturday, December 3from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Beachmont Yacht Club, 168 Pearl Ave., Revere.  Arrangements under the direction of Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home, Stoneham.

Anita Curreri

Of New Hampshire, formerly of Everett

Anita L. Curreri of Salem, NH, formerly of Everett, entered into rest unexpectedly at home on Thanksgiving Day, November 24. She was 69 years old.

Born in Everett, Anita graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1964, and went on to receive her Associates Degree. She was a pet sitter by profession, taking care of numerous animals.

The beloved daughter of the late Domenic A. and Concetta M. (Gozza) Curreri, she was the dear and devoted mother of Denise L. (Augusta) Parker  and her husband, Douglas of Salem, NH; sister of the late Leonard, Vincent and Joseph Curreri and loving grandmother of Kaitlin and Nathaniel Torres. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Anita’s Funeral from the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) Everett today, Wednesday, at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, 487 Broadway, Everett, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anita’s memory to MSPCA, 350 South Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA, 02130 would be sincerely appreciated.

George Frederick Kelley

Home Depot Sales Associate

George Frederick Kelley of Everett entered into rest on Sunday, November 13. He was 51 years old. Born in Malden, George lived in Everett for most of his life. He was a sales associate at Home Depot.

The beloved husband of Lisa M. (Generazzo) and the loving son of Judith A. (Walsh) Kelley of Saugus and the late George J. Kelley, he was the dear and devoted father of Samuel George Kelley, Lyla Michelle Kelley and Mae Carmela Kelley, all of Everett; dear brother of Kenneth Kelley of Saugus and Tracey Armstrong of Everett. George is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements were by the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in George’s memory to the charity of one’s choice would be sincerely appreciated.

Alice ‘Claire’ Bothroyd

Retired Jordan Marsh Dept. Store employee

Alice “Claire” (McLaughlin) Bothroyd, a lifelong resident of Everett, passed away Friday evening, November 25 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by her loving family. She was almost 92 years old. Claire enjoyed her retirement by sewing and she especially loved quilting. She found peace in gardening and was a very religious and spiritual woman.She was a devout member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Everett.

The daughter of the late Henry F. and Ellen (Taylor) McLaughlin, Claire attended Everett Public Schools and graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1943. Claire was a retired data clerk for Jordan Marsh Department Store in Boston. She dedicated 38 years of service before retiring.

Alice was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Thomas W. Bothroyd. She was the beloved mother of Sterling E. Bothroyd and Susan M. Carbone and her husband, Anthony G.; dear sister of Henry F. McLaughlin and is also lovingly survived by her nieces and nephews: Karen Pinette, Kathryn McLaughlin, Kristin Patti, Kurt McLaughlin, Robert Johnson, Hank Belmonte and James Belmonte.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at the Grace Episcopal Church, 67 Norwood St., Everett on Thursday, December 1 at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will precede the service from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Grace Church. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment will follow the service at the Glenwood Cemetery in Everett. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Grace Episcopal Church’s “Book to Remembrance” in Claire’s name. Grace Church P.O.
