William “Bill” Griffin
Retired Letter Carrier
William F. “Bill” Griffin of Everett entered into rest at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, July 24. He was 83 years old.
Born in Boston, Bill lived in Everett for most of his life. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from the US Postal Service having worked as a letter carrier for many years.
The beloved husband of Teresa (Anastasia) for more than 55 years, he was the dear and devoted father of Laurine Gallagher and her husband, Bernard of Revere, Sheila Filiault and her husband, Mark of Durham, CT and Pamela Griffin of Melrose, the brother of the late Phil Griffin and his surviving wife, Janet Griffin of East Lyme, CT and the loving grandfather of Jamie and Julia Filiault.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bill’s visiting hours in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main Street) Everett today, Wednesday, July 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. His funeral will be held from the funeral home on Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in Sacred Hearts Church, 315 Main St. Malden, at 10 a.m. Interment, with Military Honors, will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill’s memory to the VFW Post 639, 36 Crystal St., Malden, MA, 02148 would be sincerely appreciated.
