CITY OF EVERETT RECEIVES CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT FOR EXCELLENCE IN FINANCIAL REPORTING

DeMaria’s administration continues to be recognized as a leading community

Mayor Carlo DeMaria recently announce that the City’s comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2015 qualified for a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government. Looking to the future, Mayor DeMaria and his administration look to continue to be recognized as a leading community in public financial management by practice and policy development. As an administration it is the Mayor’s goal to enhance and promote quality government management for the benefit of the residents and businesses in the City of Everett.

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DAY ANNOUNCED

Mayor Carlo DeMaria would like to remind residents that the City will be holding its annual Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, May 7th from 8AM to 12PM at the City Services Facility, 19 Norman Street.

Acceptable household hazardous waste materials include: oil based paint, varnish, stain, turpentine; all types of metal, floor and furniture cleaners in bottles or aerosol cans; lawn and garden insecticides, pesticides, weed killers, and fertilizers; kitchen and bathroom cleaners, oven cleaners, drain cleaners, detergents and spot removers; automotive waste fuels, tire cleaners, tires, engine solvents, oil filters, and antifreeze; car batteries, EMPTY propane tanks for a grills and fluorescent lamps.

No latex paint, medical waste, grills or electronics will be collected.
