Man arrested with stolen car and firearm
A Medford man was arrested two weeks ago with a stolen motor vehicle and a stolen firearm, by Everett Police.
Ryan McMasters, age 32 of Medford was charged with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. He was arraigned in Malden District Court on Thursday August 6, 2015.
According to Everett Police on August 5, police dispatch received a radio broadcast from Medford Police regarding the theft of a black Volkswagen Jetta from a Dunkin Donuts parking lot. While on patrol less than 30 minutes later, Patrolman Stephen Sabella observed the black Volkswagen Jetta being operated by a male driver. Officer Sabella then observed the operator reaching forward while seated in the driver’s seat. When the suspect exited the motor vehicle he was arrested without incident. Assisting in the arrest were Sgt. Richard DiTrapano, and officers Diego Custodio, Eric Rizza and William Grant.
The responding officers observed that the glove compartment box and the contents of a gym bag were scattered throughout the interior of the motor vehicle. The officers observed ammunition in the vehicle and located a Glock 40 caliber firearm under the driver’s seat of the motor vehicle.
“This is an example of good police work and paying attention to detail,” explaiend Chief of Police Steven Mazzie. “Not only did the stolen vehicle get recovered but a firearm was removed from the street.”
All subjects arrested by the Everett Police Department are presumed to be innocent proven guilty in a court of law.
Everett man arrested possessing child pornography
Everett Police Chief Steven A. Mazzie announced last week, the arrest of an Everett resident following an investigation into the distribution of child pornography. The Everett Police Department working in conjunction with the Boston Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executed a search warrant on an Everett residence.
Following execution of the search warrant, Everett Police Department Detective Michael Lavey arrested Stephen M. Gibbons, age 49 of Everett. He was charged with Possession of Child Pornography and Dissemination of Child Pornography.
Gibbons was arraigned in Malden District Court on Wednesday July 29, 2015.
All suspects arrested by the Everett Police Department are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Police apprehend man during housebreak
On Thursday August 6, 2015 at 9:35 a.m., Patrolman Matt Cunningham reported a possible breaking and entering into a residence on Morris Street. Officer Cunningham, along with Everett Police Department Lt. Mark Zielinski, and officers Paul Giardina and Glenn Marshall entered a rear door at the Morris Street residence and discovered an apartment in disarray.
A male subject was discovered upstairs in the residence and placed under arrest without incident.
Richard Tilton, age 27 of Everett was charged with Breaking and Entering in the Daytime with Intent to Commit a Felony, Malicious Destruction of Property and Receiving Stolen Property.
“This was a swift response by our officers who were tipped off by a concerned resident and it resulted in the arrest and complete return of property to the owner,” said Police Chief Steven Mazzie. “As in many other property crime cases, this suspect is committing harm in the community to feed a drug habit.”

Theodore Stephanides, 39, 2 Ronny Terr., Peabody, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor.
