Local Talent on ‘The Voice’

Outside The Box Boston hosted a number of free performances throughout the week at Boston Common from July 14-19. The free festival, which boasted to have entertainment for everyone’s tastes, included more than 100 artists and performers. One of the highlighted performances included contestants from NBC’s “The Voice” including local talent and season winners who appeared on the television show.

James Massone, local favorite who has ties to Everett and finalist of Season 2, was excited to perform alongside his former roommate from the show, Jermaine Paul, who went on to win the entire competition that year.

Massone, a Wakefield native, worked in his father’s auto body shop in Everett before making it big on the show. Massachusetts native Noah Lis, a finalist in Season 6, gave an exciting performance, getting the crowd worked up as the night went on.

Ria Eaton, also from Season 6, entertained the large crowd. Despite a little rain, the crowd got even denser throughout the night as they waited to see this year’s winner, Sawyer Fredericks, 16, perform. Fredericks, who is from a farm in upstate New York, is recognized for his distinct and powerful voice in coordination with his acoustic guitar.
