Anthony ‘Tony’ DiBattista

Retired auto body shop owner; member of Everett Auxiliary Police, Lions and Elks

Anthony “Tony” DiBattista of Everett passed away at N.E. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford on June 30. He was 96 years old.

Tony was US Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Everett Auxiliary Police, the Everett Lions and Elks Clubs and was a retired auto body shop owner.

The beloved husband of the late Mary C. (Tavilla) DiBattista, he was the loving father of Maryann Brogna and her husband, Henry of Danvers, Marie Simard and her husband, Raymond of Middleton, Helen Malone and her husband, Kevin of West Peabody and Edward DiBattista of Plymouth; loving brother of Anna D’Angelo of Malden and the late Ernest DiBattista. He is also survived by seven cherished grandchildren and five cherished great grandchildren.

Sylvia Sacco

Whidden Hospital retiree

Sylvia H. (Cerasola) Sacco of Everett passed away on June 30. She was 92 years old.

Sylvia was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1940. Prior to her retirement, she was a longtime ward assistant at Whidden Hospital.

She was the beloved wife of the late Frank C. Sacco; loving mother of Lorraine C. Sacco and Stephen P. Sacco, both of Everett.

Patricia Strout

Glen Ridge Nursing Home CNA

Patricia A. (Murdock) Strout of Everett died unexpectedly on June 24. She was 79 years old.

Born in Malden and a resident of Everett for over 30 years, Patricia passed away unexpectedly as she prepared for work as a CNA at the Glen Ridge Nursing Home, a position she held there for over 10 years. She had resided in Malden until her marriage, then moved to Chelsea and New Mexico before settling in Everett. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, going out to eat and shopping.

She was the beloved wife of the late Irving Strout; devoted mother of Cathy Velleca of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Edward Donald Velleca of Spaulding, New Hampshire, Lisa Marie Velecca of Denver, Colorado, Stephen Michael Velleca of Chelsea, Lorri Jane Velleca of Newburyport and Cynthia Velleca of Chelsea; cherished grandmother of Zachary Shane Smith, Ethaniel Leavitt Smith and Hailey Gearon Smith, all of Chelsea, Zander Zane Velleca of Denver, Colorado, Sawyer Kuhn Greene of London, UK, Samarah Rettig Greene of New York and Shanaya Stephanie Velleca of Chelsea.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Memorial Service in the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, Chelsea on Saturday, July 11 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Committal Services are private.
