The Metropolitan Planning Office to Hold Next Meeting in Everett

Mayor Carlo DeMaria and the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Office (MPO) will be holding the next MPO public meeting on Thursday, June 25th at 5:30PM at Everett City Hall, Room 37, 484 Broadway.

The MPO is responsible for conducting the federally required metropolitan transportation-planning process for the Boston metropolitan area. The MPO uses this process to develop a vision for the region and then decides how to allocate federal and state transportation funds to programs and projects – roadway, transit, bicycle, and pedestrian – that support that vision.

The purpose of the meeting is to answer and gather comments about the MPO’S investment strategies for meeting the region’s needs. Residents can comment directly on the MPO’s plans, which include drafts of three major planning documents; Charting Progress to 2040, Federal Fiscal Years 2016-19 Transportation Improvement Program, and FFY 2016 Unified Planning Work Program.

Upon request, preferably two weeks in advance of the meeting, every effort will be made to provide accommodations such as assistive-listening devices, materials in accessible formats and in languages other than English, and interpreters of American Sign Language and other languages. A photo ID is required to access the building.

For more information please contact the MPO staff at 857.702.3700 (voice), 617.570.9193 (TTY), 617.570.9192 (fax), or via email at [email protected].
