Just days before Halloween, on Oct. 29, the Parlin Library hosted a presentation of live owls from an organization called Wingmasters. Wingmasters serves to rescue and protect birds of prey while educating people about them. Families were very engaged in seeing the various birds. While these particular birds are healthy, they each have a small injury or disadvantage that prevents them from being released back into the wild. Overall it was a successful event, both entertaining and educational for those that attended. The event was funded by the Everett Cultural Council, which is the local office of the Massachusetts Cultural Council
