Elsa Guanelli

Of New Hampshire, formerly of Everett

Elsa (Commito) Guanelli of New Hampshire, formerly of Everett, died on July 25.

She was the mother of Carmen DeCarlo and his wife, Mary Anne of Sandown, NH, Frances Rossetti and her late husband, Thomas of Dracut and the late Mario DeCarlo; brother of Elio Commito, Mary Murphy and the late Ado Commito and Azio Commito and is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

Her Funeral will be held from the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main St., Everett today, Wednesday, July 31 at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony Church, Everett at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elsa’s memory may be made to St. Anthony Church, 38 Oakes St., Everett, MA 02149. www.roccofuneralhomes.com

Rita Porcaro

Homemaker

Rita (Giordano) Porcaro, a longtime resident of Medford, died at the Golden Living Center-Elmhurst in Melrose on July 26.  She was 95 years old.

A homemaker born in Everett, she was the beloved wife of the late Victor J. Porcaro; sister of the late Benjamin, Mary and Rose A. Giordano; dear sister-in-law of Anna Giordano of Melrose and Mary Nadolny of Everett; loving aunt of Marie Elaine Dwyer and her late husband, William of Wakefield, Nicholas Anthony Giordano and his wife, Ella of Melrose and Anthony Victor Giordano and his wife, Cathy of North Reading.  She also leaves many grandnieces and grandnephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Rita’s visiting hours in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home,  65 Clark St. (Corner of Main Street) Everett on Friday, August 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. Her funeral service will held be in the funeral home Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. .  Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rita’s memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 11 Vanderbuilt Ave. Ste. 105, Norwood, MA 02062-5056 would be sincerely appreciated.

Concetta ‘Connie’ Bagarella

Concetta C. “Connie” Bagarella, a lifelong resident of  Everett, died on July 26 at the Eastpointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chelsea.

Born in Everett, the beloved daughter of the late Peter and Antoinetta (Vassallo) Bagarella, she was the dear and devoted sister of Jeannette G. Bagarella of Everett, Robert Bagarella and his wife, Susan of Topsfield, Peter J. Bagarella and his wife, Anna of Melrose and the late Mary Andresen; loving aunt of Peter and Cheryl Bagarella, AnnMarie and Robert Cox, Robert Jr. and Rebecca Bagarella, Susan and Robert Skahan, Danielle and Jeff Plumb, Thomas J. Bagarella and Stephanie Bagarella and is also survived by several loving great-nieces and great-nephews.   

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Connie’s funeral in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main Street) Everett today, Wednesday,  at 10:15  a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church, 38 Oakes St., Everett, at 11:15 a.m.  Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Carmine Ragucci

Member of Many Everett Based Italian Organizations

Carmine L. Ragucci, a long time resident of Everett, died at home on July 24 after a long illness. He was 87 years old.

Born in Roccabascerana, Avellino, Italy, he retired as a machinist at Harvard Paper Box Company in Lynn after 25 plus years of employment. He was a member of the Orsogna Club of Everett, Italian-American Association of Everett and the Sons of Italy in Everett.

He was the beloved husband of Angelina (Carpinito) for over 61 years; dear and devoted father of John Ragucci and his wife, Joanne of Danvers, Carmela Navarra of Everett, Roberta Salvo and her husband, Paul of Stoneham and Albert Ragucci of Everett; brother of John and his wife, Sylvia of West Peabody, Emilio and his wife, Anna of Medford and the late Rachela Ragucci and the loving “Nonno” of Gerardo and Angela Navarra, Adam  and Raia Ragucci and Paul and Cristina Salvo.

Funeral arrangements were by the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Contributions in Carmine’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St. Watertown, MA 02472  would be sincerely appreciated.

Ittorio Cardone

Retired Baker

Vittorio A. Cardone, a longtime resident of Everett, died at home on July 26.  He was 79 years old.

Born in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Aguila, Italy,

he retired as a baker from Mike’s Pastry in Boston after 35 years of employment.

He was the beloved husband of Italia (Federico); dear and devoted father of Maria D’Artista and her late husband, Pietro of Sulmona, Italy, Gaetano Cardone of Malden and Gina Cardone-Casoni and her husband, Del of Everett; loving grandfather of Antonio and Marisa D’Artista, Michael and Tina Cardone, Cristina Flouds and Gianna Sipala and loving great-grandfather of Ilaria.

Funeral arrangements were by the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett.  Entombment was at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden. Contributions in  Vittorio’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 would be sincerely appreciated.

Maria Bianca Maggio

Director of Plants and Facilities for the Town of Andover

Maria Bianca (Pesella) Maggio, a longtime resident of Everett, died at the Massachusetts General Hospital on July 22.  She was 52 years old.

Maria, who received her Masters Degree from Bentley University, was the Director of Plants and Facilities for the town of Andover and an avid and devoted Boston Red Sox fan.

She was the daughter of the late John Pesella and Bianca (Finos); beloved mother of Christina Marie Maggio and Marysa Bianca Maggio of Everett; loving sister of John Pesella and his wife, Miriam of Jupiter, Florida and Susan Pesella of Everett; dear sister-in-law of Patricia and Kevin Kelley of Wilmington; devoted aunt of Joseph and Erin Kelley and former wife and devoted friend of Peter V. Maggio, III.  

Funeral arrangements were by Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, Everett. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Maria’s memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 89 South St., Ste. 406, Boston, MA 02111  would be sincerely appreciated.
