Machete Attack Leaves One Dead Police, DA Still Investigating

Everett Police and investigators from the Massachusetts State Police in Middlesex County, continue to investigate a reported machete attack last Monday, October 15 that left one man dead of multiple stab wounds.

According to a statement from Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone’s office, Everett police officers were called to Hosmer Street in Everett at about 9:45 p.m. on Monday, October 15 on the report of a fight.

When officers arrived, they found 30-year old Maynor Alexander Aguila suffering from multiple stab and slash wounds. Aguila was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

According to the District Attorney, Everett police immediately opened a joint investigation with the Massachusetts State Police assigned to his office, and that investigation is on-going.

One source with knowledge of the investigation, said that the victim appeared to have been attacked with a machete and investigators believe there may have been more than one attacker.

Everett Lieutenant Paul Landry did not return a call for comment on the case prior to the Independent’s deadline.
