Of New Hampshire, formerly of Everett

Alan Abkowitz of Raymond, NH, formerly of Everett, died on February 16.

He was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn (Berger) Abkowitz; devoted father of Jeff Abkowitz; loving son of the late Dr. Herbert Abkowitz and Marion G (Kaufman); dear brother of Karen Schnall and is also survived by one niece.

John ‘Jack’ Noseworthy

Lynn Resident

John E. “Jack” Noseworthy of Lynn died on February 19.

He was born, raised and educated in Everett and was the husband of the late Thelma (Blackmore) Noseworthy, father of Debra Morris and her husband, John of Florida, Nancy Muse and her husband, Ken of Lynnfield and John “Jack” Noseworthy, Jr. of New York, NY; grandfather of Alexander and Elizabeth Muse of Lynnfield; brother of Gertrude Penney of Stoughton, Shirley Wetherbee, Jean Sheppard and Harry Noseworthy, all of Florida and the late James, Edward, Albert and Robert Noseworthy.

Frank Nazzaro

Retired MBTA Foreman

Frank A. Nazzaro, a longtime resident of Everett, died at the Whidden Hospital on  February 19 after a short illness. He was 89 years old.

A US Navy veteran of World War II, he was a retired MBTA foreman with 36 years of service. He was the beloved husband of more than 65 years of Lucy O. (Berardino); dear and devoted father of Linda F. O’Brien and her husband, William of Melrose, the late Frank Nazzaro and his surviving, wife, Linda of Everett and the late Rosemary Nazzaro;; brother of Josephine Correggio of Everett, Rose Vitale of Malden and the late Anthony Nazzaro, Lucy Masiello and Anna Cirino; loving grandpa of Brendan O’Brien and his wife, Janelle, Jeffrey O’Brien and his wife, Jamila, and Anthony,  Nicholas and Francesca Nazzaro.

His Funeral will be held from the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) Everett.  Doris M. (Swindell), Westaway R.N. of Tewksbury, formerly of Everett, died on February 14. She was 80 years old.

She was the beloved wife of the late Tewksbury Police Officer, Leith N. Westaway, and daughter of the late Howard J. and Sarah (McLay) Swindell, Sr.; loving mother of three children: retired Tewksbury Police Sergeant Robert L. Westaway and his wife, Kathleen (O’Keefe) of Tewksbury, Tewksbury D.P.W. employee, Richard L. Westaway and his wife, Barbara (Anderson) of Tewksbury, and Lyn K. Severino and her husband, John of Winchester; devoted grandmother of Kerri L. Kelly and her husband, Brandon of Lowell, Erin E. Gamlin and her husband, Jon of Tewksbury, Katelin A. Angelique R. Kane of Everett, formerly of Charlestown, died suddenly on February 15. She was 33 years old.

Anna M. (Oliveri) Aiello of Peabody, formerly of Revere and Everett, died on February 18.

She was the wife of the late Frank Aiello; beloved mother of Edward Aiello and his wife, Denice, Richard Aiello and his wife, Lisa, Marie Bavaro and her husband, Ralph of Peabody; loving grandmother of Nicholas, Christiina, Gina, Maria, Richard Jr., Nicole and Christopher; sister of Mary Dripps of Georgia and the late Charles Oliveri, Richard Oliveri and Lillian Polcari.

Helen Johnston

Lifelong active member of Grace Episcopal Church

Helen M. (Deane) Johnston, a lifelong resident of Everett, died on February 16. She was 93 years old.

A life time member of the Grace Episcopal Church  for which she was an active participant in all church fairs, fundraisers and suppers, she was the wife of the late James S. Johnston, the beloved mother of Deane S. Johnston of Everett and the late Glen N. Johnston; daughter of the late Samuel and Susan M. (Baskin) Deane; dear sister of Samuel Deane of Florida and the late William Deane, Elizabeth Deane and Alma Crewson. She is also lovingly survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.

A Holy Eucharist Service was celebrated in the Grace Episcopal Church, Everett. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the above named Church.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the William R. Violet Bartlett Finlayson

Of Maine, formerly of Everett

Violet Bartlett Finlayson, a recent resident of Newcastle, ME, formerly of Everett, Burlington and Bedford, NH, died on February 15 in Damariscotta, Maine. She was 95 years old.

“Vi” moved to Maine in May of 2011. She was born on January 1, 1917 in Everett, the daughter of Livinia (Milley) and Harold J. Bartlett. She is survived by a brother, Herbert Bartlett of Bremen, ME; nephews Donald Lonnberg, Jeffrey Bartlett; nieces, Janice Broderick, Susan Fay, and Karen Capece; step-daughter, Wendy O’Connell; step-grandsons, Jeffrey and Andrew.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Marion Lonnberg and her husband, Richard Finlayson.

Yolanda ‘Yola’ Mangerian

Yolanda “Yola” (Pesce) Mangerian of Everett died on February 17.

She was the beloved wife of the late Humo; loving daughter of the late Antonio and Catherine Pesce; loving sister of Nina Brooks of Everett and the late Amadeo, Natalina, James, Joseph, Feo, Lester and Orlando “Sonny” Pesce. She is survived by her sister-in-law Phyllis Pesce and many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well the loving Mangerian family both living and deceased.

Anne M. (Silva) McCauley of Melrose, formerly of Malden, Everett and Chelsea, died recently. She worked for the Registry of Motor Vehicles and was also a longtime waitress at Jeveli’s in East Boston.

She was the devoted wife of the late William P. McCauley, Sr.; daughter of the late Emmanuel and Catherine (Barbaro) Silva; beloved mother of William P. McCauley, Jr. of Malden, Peter John McCauley and Michael James McCauley, both of Melrose; cherished grandmother of Cassie Ann and Joseph McCauley of Melrose and Kristen and Nicole McCauley of Orange; loving sister of Emmanuel “Manny” Silva of Lynn, Carol Currier of Derry, NH, Mary Louise Beckner of California and the late Rachel O’Leary and Irene Adayno and dear friend of Reita Colard of Pepperell. She is also survived by 17 nieces and nephews.

Mary A. Albano of Malden, formerly of Everett, died on February 20.

The daughter of the late Pasquale A. and Maria (Leo) Albano, she was the loving sister of Carmen B. Albano and the late Clare Santora and Joseph Albano, who is survived by his wife, Mabel. She was the beloved aunt of Marie Chiulli, Debra Roda, Clare Flowers, George Santora and Mark Albano and Karen Scoulis.
