Popeyes Causing Stir for Chicken Lovers

For fried chicken lovers, the recent opening of Popeyes on the parkway just next to PepBoys, there is new reason to look forward to lunch or dinner or that late night nosh that you’ve been dying for.

And it isn’t just their famous fried chicken – legs, wings, breasts all fried with a golden touch that delights.

How about butterfly shrimp, fries and a biscuit or a side of Musselman’s Apple Sauce?

The new Popeyes has been packing them in since opening last month.

It is the dreamchild of Jonathan Stilianos, who is one of the operating partners of Synergy Dining Group, owners of four additional locations.

“The reason Popeyes is so successful is because we sell our chicken fresh and fast. None of our chicken inventory has time to hang around a refrigerator. We sell our stuff fresh and people love that and they notice it,” Stilianos said.

It was 11:30 a.m. and the place was already lining up with customers as we spoke.

The place was immaculate and many employees were busy throughout amking sure everything was just right for the new day.

“We are proud that we have created 54 new jobs here. We employ 200 people at all our locations and we are intending to grow,” he said.

Popeyes generally generate about $1 million per year per location.

Better locations, such as the one on Route 16, generate twice that number.

“We are very proud of what we have achieved with Popeyes,” said Stilianos, who grew up in Marblehead.

“I’ve been working restaurants all my life,” said the 51 year -old entrepreneur.

The Everett location on the Parkway is open from 10 a.m. -11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and on Friday, Saturday, it is open from 10 a.m. -midnight.
