June White

Of Lynn, formerly of Everett

June J. (Moccia) White of Lynn died peacefully at home following a brief illness. She was 80 years old.

The beloved wife of the late Leonard W. White, she was born in Everett, daughter of the late Charles and Victoria (Angrisano) Moccia. She was a resident of Lynn for the past 43 years. She previously lived in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1949.

Prior to her marriage, she worked for the former Touraine Paints for 18 years. Mrs. White was a long time communicant of Our Lady of Assumption Church in Lynnfield. She also enjoyed doing crafts and was active with many Christmas Bazaars.  Her true devotion was being a loving wife and mother and spending time at gatherings with her family and friends.

She is survived by her loving son Leonard S. White of Lynn; one sister, Gloria Hoyt of Stoneham and many devoted nieces, nephews and cherished friends. She was the sister of the late Christopher Moccia, Lena Capps, Jean Mayo, Mary Szuluk Ciulla and Emma Punch.

Roberta B. Finnick of Everett died on November 26.

She was the beloved wife of the late Harold F. Finnick and the loving mother of John F. Finnick and the late Donna Zimmerman.

Samuel Poole of Revere, formerly Charlestown, died on November 24.

A US Marine Corps veteran, he was the loving father of Samuel A. Poole of Revere and Stephen Poole of Somerville; dear brother of Margaret Zarella and Joanne Fitzgerald, both of Methuen, Eleonor Foley of Charlestown, Steven Poole of Reading, Lorraine Sexton of Everett and the late David and Ronald Poole; cherished grandfather of Samuel A. Poole, Jr. and uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Anthony J. Cagnina of Malden, formerly of East Boston, died on November 25. He was 63 years old.

He was the beloved son of the late Michael Cagnina Sr. and Mary (Nicoccio) Cagnina; beloved husband of Karen (Connelly) Cagnina; loving father of Tracy Burns and her husband, Brian of California and Paul Cagnina and his wife, Cheryl of Everett; cherished grandfather of Michael and Kevin Cagnina and Anthony Burns; dear brother of Salvatore, Angelo and Michael Cagnina, Jr., all of East Boston and is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Maria Teresa Bruno

Maria Teresa (Caruso) Bruno of Everett died on November 23.

She was the beloved wife of the late Gino and loving mother of Rosi Casey and her husband, Henry, Lucy, Angela and Gino Bruno; beloved sister of Connie Carbone and her husband, Frank, Lena Uccello and her husband, George and Nuccio Caruso and his wife, Robin. She is survived by three loving grandchildren, Keri-Ann, Henry III and Dante as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Charles David Duff of Stoneham died on November 23. He was 58 years old.

A retiree of IUOE Local 4, he was the son of the late John M. and Frances (Doucette) Duff; father of Christopher R. Fantasia of Everett and Ally J. Duff of Albany, NY; brother of Constance Duff Eade of Timonium, MD, Peter Duff of Juniper, FL and John Duff of Reading.

Mary M. (Maloney) Goodwin, a longtime resident of Everett, died at Woodbrier of Wilmington Nursing Home on November 21. She was 86 years old.

Born in East Boston and a retired secretary, she was a former member of St. Therese Ladies’ Sodality; Ladies’ Sodality of the Immaculate Conception Parish and the Catholic Daughters of America, Court 324, Everett.

She was the beloved wife of the late Clarence S. Goodwin; dear and devoted mother of Elaine M. Palizzolo and her husband, Paul R. of Wilmington, Patricia A. Swinford of Tewksbury, Mary M. Rea and her husband, Joseph of Everett and Stephen T. Goodwin and his wife, Geraldine of Everett; sister of James Maloney of N. Reading, Loretta Barrasso of Everett, and the late Thomas and Dorothy Maloney; sister-in-law of Jacqueline Maloney of Everett and is also survived by 10 loving grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Albert Aversa of Haverhill, formerly of Everett, died at home on November 23.  He was 90 years old.

Born in Chelsea and a longtime resident of Everett before moving to Haverhill, he was the retired proprietor of Aversa Fuel and Appliance Company in Everett.

He was the beloved husband of Mary (Fry) for 65 years; dear and devoted father of Frances Drysdale and her husband, Harry S. of Haverhill, Leonard Aversa and his late wife, Judy of Wakefield, Albert Aversa and his wife, Sandy of Boxford and Richard Aversa and his wife, Diane of N. Andover; brother of Rose Montalbano of Everett and the late Charles Aversa; loving Papa of 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Elvira M. Della Volpe of Malden died on November 27 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. She was 99 years old.

Born in Boston and a longtime resident of Malden, she was a retired hair stylist working in various salons.

She was the beloved daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maria (D’Anselmo) Della Volpe; sister of the late Irene M. Carnevale and Armand Della Volpe and is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a visitation period in the Cafasso & Sons Funeral Home, 65 Clark St. (Corner of Main St.) Everett, Friday morning from 8 to 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Anthony’s Church, Oakes St., Everett, at 10 a.m.  Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.

Antonina M. “Tina” (Caluchina) Ellard of Malden died on November 25.

A retired employee of B.F. Goodrich, she was a volunteer at Malden Hospital, a member of the Malden YWCA Jaunters Travel Group and I.C. Church Damien Group.

She was the wife of the late Charles V.; daughter of the late Antonio and Madeline (Cataldo); sister of the late Josephine, Raffalina, Francis Caluchina, Phyllis Ferullo, Florence Beradino and Lena Schwartz and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Joseph E. Bryant of Revere, formerly of Everett, died at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston on November 21 after a brief illness. He was 51 years old.

Born in Lawrence and a longtime resident of Everett before moving to Revere five years ago, he was a businessman who was a real estate owner and manager

He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Simonelli); loving son of Mary (Manetta) Slabczynski and the late Salvatore Sapienza; dear and devoted father of Heather Lea Bryant and Elizabeth Mary Bryant of Revere; brother of David Bryant of Salem, John and Anthony Slabczynski of Haverhill, Helen Maria Ormond of Hampstead, NH and the late Paul Bryant and is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.

Pasquale A. “Rick” Mattei of Littleton, NH, formerly of Everett, died on November 23.

He was the beloved husband of 38 years to Kathleen A. (Denish) Mattei; loving father of Louis J. Mattei and his wife, Danielle of Worcester and Kelly A. Mattei and her longtime boyfriend, Gerry Fasano of Everett.

Maria Concetta Matarazzo

Maria Concetta (Barile) Matarazzo died on November 20 at a local nursing facility surrounded by her family after a period of failing health. She was 92 years old.

Born in Italy, she lived in Malden where she raised her family.

A loving mother and housewife, she was th beloved wife of the late Luigi Matarazzo and loving mother of Luigi of Malden, Maria Cubellis of Everett and Angelo of Florida and Michael. She is also survived by six loving grandchildren.

Her funeral was held from the Murphy O’Hara Funeral Home, Everett. Burial was  in Holy Cross Cemetery Malden.
