Eagle Bank, a long time sponsor of Everett Youth Basketball, made a $3,500.00 donation to the organization toprovide this year’s 6th, 7th, and 8th grade teams with the funds to play in the North Suburban Youth Basketball League. Numerous youngsters are participating in the program, which provides them with an opportunity to visit other communities and to play against neighboring youth in a highly competitive league.
The organization was founded by John DiBiaso, Jr. over 25 years ago, and has afforded countless young students athletes to experience the excitement and camaraderie associated with organized teams at an early age. Apart from the athletic competition enjoyed by all of the players, the organization requires them to become dedicated students and courteous citizens. Two recent alumni of the program are Jonathan DiBiaso. and Rodwell Blanc. Jonathan had a record setting season for 2010 EHS Football team, helping them win the 2010 Division One Super Bowl. In addition to being named to numerous First Team All-Scholastic Football Teams, Jonathan is a National Honor Society student. Rodwell is a freshman on the EHS Varsity Boys Basketball team. During his time with Everett Youth Basketball, Rodwell led his team to two championships. In addition, Rodwell is a credit roll student at EHS
“I would like to thank Jim Whittaker [President and CEO] and Eagle Bank for helping a lot of youngsters by providing them with opportunities they otherwise would probably not receive,” commented Mr. DiBiaso. In accepting the donation, Coach DiBiaso further remarked, “Eagle Bank has always been a generous contributor to the program, and many young people have received the benefits and values associated with organized youth sports due to the dedication of Eagle Bank.”
