When you’ve made it to the mountaintop, it is not the end of the world if you are tossed from it or fall off.
The preference, of course, is that one remains atop the mountain, with no one else able to throw you from it.
Everett’s loss to Xaverian in last weekend’s state title football game did not come out the way all of us wished and hoped for.
However, this final loss in the state title game, does nothing to take away from the great year the Crimson Tide experienced.
For the players, it was a disappointing finish to an otherwise championship season.
But at least they made it to the top only to lose a few steps away from holding it as their own.
The Crimson Tide will be back.
