Christmas is a very lonely time for the men and women serving in the armed forces away from homes and families. In Everett, parents and friends of the servicemen and women are going to make this Christmas a little brighter. The group under the leadership of Dottie Costanza, Patty Cruciotti, Patti Kenney and Martha Johnson are going to be shipping care packages to those service people from Everett just in time for Christmas.
For these four women, this project has a very personal meaning. Their sons are serving in the armed forces and stationed either at various military forts or are on duty on the frontlines. They are asking residents of Everett to help by donating the following items before the deadline of November 27:

Hello,
Thank you for printing the above story in your paper. Our group would like you to print a Thank You note to the people of Everett. Our Project, "Operation Merry Christmas 09", was a huge success due to the generous people of Everett. We asked for donation's and got them big time. We had such an overwhelming response that we sent out numerous boxes at Christmas and are planning to send out more in mid February.
The success of our project happened with resident's donating goods as well as students, teachers, school personnel, private organizations.
A special Thanks to Joe Hickey and Gerry Marenda for all of their help. The Veteran's Dept. funded all of our over-seas packages. The Vietnam Veteran's Club, Ald. Michael Marchese, Mayor Carlo DiMaria, Mark Glinner and especially all the resident's of our city.
EVERETT IS AWESOME! THANK YOU!
